-- The death of John Swenson, of this township, caused deep regret among his many friends hereabouts. His death occurred on the 30th ult., of inflammation fo the bowels, at his residence on the Postville-Myron road. He was born in Norway in 1846 and has resided in this vicinity for the past twenty years. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lockwood. Deceased was a member of the A. O. U. W. of this place and a large delegation of the brethren attended the remains to their final resting place in the Minert cemetery. A widow and only son mourn the loss of a devoted husband and affectionate father. Mr. Swenson carried an insurance of $2,000 in the Workmen.
