Themert Hanson Dies at the Waukon Hospital
Funeral services for Themert M. Hanson of Waukon were held Saturday March 6 from St.John's Lutheran Church. He died Wednesday March 3 at Veterans Memorial Hospital. He was 70. Born in Allamakee County Feb 23, 1812, he was the son of Albert and Selma Thompson Hanson. He attended Waterville schools was a plumber and an employee of the DX Sunray Oil company and was a member of St.John's church. He was first married to Anna Knuppe who died Jan. 23, 1981. He then married Catherine Johnson Dec 29, 1981. She survives as do two daughters, Mrs. John (Kathryn) Derga of Worthington and Mrs. Russell (Rae Marie) Nunn of Tulsa, OK; stepchildren, Eddy Knuppe of Waukon and Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Steiber of Lansing; 18 grandchildren, and a brother Lester of Manitowoc, WI. Presiding at the 1:30 p.m. funeral was the Rev Marlyn Hansing, with burial in Oakland cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Martin's. Pallbearers were Donald Renne, Gerald Renne, Floyd Knuppe, Dennis Moe, Gilman Moe and Jeffrey Derga.
