Lucille H. Troendle, 93, of Lansing died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Thornton Manor Care Center in Lansing following a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 29 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in Gethsemane Cemetery, both in Lansing.

Lucille was born October 7, 1915 in New Hampton to Sam and Helen (Boos) Bechtel. She graduated from East High School in Waterloo. She married Cornelius Troendle May 26, 1942 in Lansing in a double wedding ceremony with Cornelius’s brother, Richard, and sister-in-law, Gladys.
They farmed in the Lansing area and lived on the farm until moving to Waterloo to be closer to their daughter, Becky, in 2000. They returned to Lansing in 2005 and lived at Thornton Manor. She loved gardening and flowers, along with being an excellent cook. And she loved making and decorating wedding cakes and did sewing for others.

Lucille is survived by three children, Becky Ann (Gerald) Reppe of Waterloo, Roger (Phyllis) Troendle of Verona, WI, and Tom (Doris) Davis of Sacramento, CA; three grandchildren, Corey Lee (Nicole) Reppe of Holmen, WI, Christopher Paul (Emily) Reppe of Waukee, and Debbie (David) Jones of Roy, UT; eight great-grandchildren, Zak and Autumn Reppe, Christian James Reppe, Christopher, Anthony and Thomas Jones, Rosalyn Bates, and Mark Jones; five great-great-grandchildren, Laramie and Lane Jones, and Domenique, Sean, and Breauna Bates; and three sisters-in-law, Minnie (Ted) Troendle, Gladys (Richard) Troendle, and Rita (Carl) Troendle, all of Lansing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Quintin; her son, Bill Davis; and her husband, Cornelius.
