Roland Marsh
Roland Marsh was born in Geneseo, N.Y., February 24, 1825, and died at Waukon, Iowa, May 29, 1916.

When three years of age his parents moved to Cattaraugus county, N.Y., where he grew to manhood. Here he was married to Mary Ann Oakes in 1846.

Soon after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Marsh came to Wisconsin, and in 1852, moved to Clayton County, Iowa, settling on a farm near Monona. In 1859 they retired from the farm making their home in Postville. They resided in Postville 13 years, and four years ago came to live with their daughter, Mrs. Adams of Waukon.

Mrs. Marsh preceded her husband in death June 13, 1913.

Six children were born to them, four of whom survive. They are Clark D. of Washta, Iowa, Elmer R. of McGregor, Iowa, and George C. and Mrs. Eva Adams, both of Waukon.

Mr. Marsh was a man of staunch Christian character. He was a member of the Methodist church for many years. He was a patient sufferer during the many weeks preceding his death.
The funeral will be held at the home of Mrs. Adams Thursday at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Young.
