Last Rites For James Fahey
A funeral mass was offered Saturday, July 21 in St. Patrick’s Catholic church for James Fahey, retired Waukon farmer who died July 19 in University hospital in Iowa City following a week’s illness.
The Rev. John Purtell was the officiating priest and interment was in Mount Olivet ce4metery. Paul, Keith, Kenneth and Jim Fahey, Kenneth Johnson and Mark Byrnes were pallbearers. Bakke and Hanson was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fahey was born Dec. 25, 1890 in Waukon and was a son of Mr. And Mrs. Joseph Fahey Sr. He attended local schools and never married.
Survivors are three brothers, John and Emmet of Waukon and Leo of Mobile, Ala. And three sisters Mrs. Thomas (Florence) O’Malley and Mrs. Clarence (Luella) Haas of Waukon and Mrs. Alvin (Stella) Johnson of Decorah.
Two sisters, Mrs. William (Sadie) Schwartzhoff and Mrs. Francis (Mary) Zoll and a brother Joseph Fahey preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon.
