Edward H. Wedo
Edward H. Wedo, son of August and Ida (Teepe) Wedo was born May 1, 1903 in Clermont, Iowa. He died June 22, 1993. He was 90.
He grew up in Clermont and attended rural Clermont schools. On June 16, 1929 he married Doris Ralston at the Zion United Church of Christ parsonage in Waukon.
Ed worked in the Clermont Lumber Co. for a time before marriage. After moving to Waukon in 1934 he worked as a mechanic in the Chevrolet and Pontiac dealerships for over 20 years. From 1942-1945 he worked at an oil refinery in California. From 1952-1953 he worked in road construction in California. Before retiring in 1971 he farmed for six years south of Waukon. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, David, an infant son, Donald, brothers William, Fritz, Ben and Leslie Wedo, and sisters Bertha Gilbert and Agness Ward.
Survivors include his wife, Doris of Waukon; two daughters, Ramona Miller of Rosemead, Calif. and Barbara and her husband Richard McCormack of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Walter and his wife Gloria of Waukon, and James and his wife Gloria of Slayton, Minn.; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Services for Edward Wedo were held Friday, June 25 at the Martin Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dean Shelly officiated. Burial was at God's Acre Cemetery, Clermont.
Casket bearers were Bill Livingood, Henry Sass, Milbourn Johnson, Lester Sass, Gerald Ralston and Eric Wedo.
