Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home and at 2:00 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Friday, June 13, for Mrs. Virgil Harris, 25, who passed away at Postville Hospital Monday from burns sustained in a fire several months ago.
Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig will be in charge of the rites. Burial will be in the Postville cemetery.
Florence Mae Myhre Harris, daughter of Styrk Edwin Myhre and Amanda Lybeck Myhre, was born May 17, 1927, at Caledonia, Minnesota, and departed this life on June 9, 1952, at Postville as a result of severe burns sustained in a fire which destroyed the family home on February 26, 1952, aged 25 years and 22 days.
Mrs. Harris was received into active membership in the Lutheran Church, also in the Wilmington Lutheran congregation.
Mrs. Harris was united in marriage with Virgil Harris of Postville on August 24, 1945, also in the Wilmington Lutheran congregation by Pastor C. L. Lee. To this union four children were born, all of who survive the passing of their mother.
Mrs. Harris spent the earlier years of her life at the home of her parents in Wilmington township, Houston county, Minnesota. She attended rural school in Wilmington township. She also attended and was a graduate of the Caledonia high school.
Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Harris established the family home in the Postville community. Approximately two and a half years ago they removed to a farm about three miles north of Monona. It was here that Mrs. Harris received the injuries resulting in her death.
Left to mourn her passing are her four children: James Allen, 6; Richard Lee, 5; John Frederick, 4, and Jean Marie, 2; her parents, her grandmother, Mrs. Enger Lybeck, of Caledonia, Minnesota; one sister, Eunice, Mrs. George Gondrezick, of Denver, Colorado; four brothers; Sidney Myhre, of Caledonia, Ronald Myhre, Robert Myhre and Dean Myhre, all at home.
The family gratefully acknowledges the many evidences of esteem, affection and love extended to them.
