George had a life-long love of the outdoors which made him well suited to the farming life. He spent many of his favorite times hunting, fishing, looking for mushrooms and riding four wheelers. Collecting guns and deer antlers as well as going to auctions to visit with his many good friends were other favorite pastimes. He was particularly close to his faithful dog, Punky.
