ROY E. ELLIS

Funeral services for Roy Ellis were held Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1983 at 1:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. The Rev. Howard Wolfgram officiated. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Roy E. Ellis, son of John Pearl and Carrie Jane (Taylor) Ellis, was born July 28, 1917 in Postville. He passed away Oct. 7, 1983 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.

He attended the Postville Community Schools. On Aug. 17, 1957 he was married to Marilyn Bray at Rock Island, Illinois. To this union three children were born. They lived in Postville and Castalia areas where he had a furniture repair and refinishing business.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lyle and a sister, Ruby (Mrs. Theodore Crago).

Surviving are two sons, Donald E. and Scott A., Castalia; a daughter, Deborah (Mrs. Earl Brainard), Castalia; a grandson Christopher Ellis; three brothers, Kenneth and Clifford (Kip), Postville, and Lloyd, Moline, IL; and two sisters, Mrs. Irvin (Naomi) Hull, Diamond City, AR and Iva Bruckner of North Ft. Myers, FL.
