Alma E. Ferring

Alma E. Ferring, 95, of Lansing died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Thornton Manor Care Center in Lansing. Funeral services were held Monday, March 23 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in Gethsemane Cemetery, both in Lansing.

She is survived by her children, Tom (Ruth) Ferring, Donna (Gary) Danzer, Ron (Linda) Ferring, Bill (Karen) Ferring, Mary (Keith) Garrett, and Rita (Steve) Heim; 30 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ray Cole of Lansing.

Alma was born July 23, 1913 in Lansing to James and Isabelle (Flowers) Cole. She married Joseph Ferring February 11, 1930 in Dubuque. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and rocking babies. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; seven children, Virginia, Bernice, Keith, Ken, Jerry, Dwayne and Steve; two brothers, James and Harold Cole; and two sisters, Edna Gibbs and Ardell Lind.
