Floyd Penrod Dies In Auto Accident
Funeral services for Floyd Lee Penrod, who was fatally injured in an auto accident at Key West, Florida, Saturday, June 16, will be held in the Community Presbyterian church at Postville, Thursday, June 21 at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Dick Harberts will officiate. Interment will be in the Postville Cemetery. Schutte's is in charge of arrangements.
Floyd Lee Penrod, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Penrod, was born June 27, 1951, at Rocky Ford, Colorado. The family moved to Postville in 1962. He attended the Cora B. Darling elementary school and graduated from Postville Community high school in 1969.
Floyd was baptized and made Confession of Faith in the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, December 8, 1963. He was a member of the Amvets Post No. 27.
He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in June of 1969 and was still in the service at Key West.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Penrod; a brother Robert O. Penrod of Postville; two sisters, Mrs. Gene (Mary) Stadtmiller of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Dennis (Shirley) Ford of Richland, Washington; his fiance, Beverly Hansen of Brayton, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Penrod of Rocky Ford, Colorado and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Paul (Bernice) Yates of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; also several uncles and aunts and a nephew Michael Joe Penrod.
