Death of Well Known Ludlow Resident

The death of William Stock, an old and highly respected resident of Ludlow township, occurred on Wednesday last, Sept. 24, 1924, at the age of 70 years. Deceased was born in Hohenhausen, Lippe-Detmold, Germany, Nov. 11, 1858, and came to this country when 13 years of age. He was united in marriage with Miss Charlotte Hager 46 years ago. Four children were born to them, a son dying in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Grotegut, passed away three years ago.

He is survived by the widow, a son, William, and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Adam, all of Ludlow. Also six brothers, Theodore, August and Charles of Waukon, and Henry, Edward and Fred of Howard, S.D., and one sister, Miss Sophia Stock.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon in the Bethlehem church in Ludlow, conducted by Rev. Widmayer, and was attended by a large number of sympathizing friends who desired to pay their last tribute to one who was universally respected.
