Phyllis E. Peterson
Funeral services for Phyllis E. Peterson, 70, were held November 15, 1985 at 10:30 a.m. at United Presbyterian Church, Wilton. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.
Phyllis E. Peterson, daughter of Bert and Ethel (Harrington) Kohler was born December 22, 1914 at West Bend, IA. She died November 11 at the Wilton Nursing Home, Wilton.
On January 4, 1934 she was married to C. M. (Mack)** Peterson in Illinois. They lived in Postville after their marriage until they moved to Wilton.
She was part owner and operator of Wilton Cleaning, had worked at the Star Drugstore, Wilton, for 20 years. She was a member of Postville Eastern Star, had served on the Wilton Park board for 6 years, was a member of Wilton Presbyterian Church, a Campfire Girls volunteer, the first president and one of the founders of the Wilton Band Boosters.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Surviving are her husband, C. M. (Mack)** Peterson, Wilton; a daughter, Patricia Peterson, Ft. Collins, CO; 2 sons, Phillip, Garner and Charles, Grand Junction, CO; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 1 sister, Mrs. Hollis (Geraldine) Swanson, Des Moines; 3 brothers, Robert, Vero Beach, FL; Keith, Sarasota, FL and Clif (sic), Bradenton, FL.
**In this obituary Phyllis' husband is nicknamed "Mack". In his obituary, which is posted here also, I typed his nickname as "Mick". The newspaper is disintegrated there and I assumed it was "Mick" but his wife's obituary says "Mack" and that makes more sense when you study his middle name of McConnell. His whole name is Charles McConnell "Mack" Peterson. I am sorry about this mistake but hope this clears it up.
