Funeral services for Irene Petersen (sic), 90, are being held today at 11 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, Postville. Rev. Rueben Tjaden will conduct the services. Schutte Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Hampton, Iowa.

Irene Petersen (sic), daughter of Thomas and Mary (French) Law, was born January 10, 1895 at Clear Lake. She died March 23 at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville.

She attended a rural school near Clear Lake and graduated from high school in Hollywood, CA. She graduated from Park Hospital School of Nursing in Mason City where she served as a registered nurse and Director of Nursing.

She married Erie N. Petersen (sic) October 24, 1924 in Mason City. They farmed near Glenwood, MN and Joice, Iowa. In 1945 they moved to Minneapolis and in 1953 they came to Postville. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women's Association.

Her husband, Erie, preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived by a daughter, Lorna Kittleson of Postville, a son, William Petersen (sic) of New York City, 2 step-sons, Delbert Petersen (sic) of Minneapolis, and Vaughn Petersen (sic) of Chico, CA, a sister, Margaret Kimble of Everett, WA, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren.
