Mrs. Drew’s Last Rites Wednesday

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 from St. Patrick’s Church for Mrs. William H. Drew, 97, who died Monday following a long period of ill health. Father John McDonald officiated at the funeral, for which arrangements were in charge of Bakke and Hanson. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Catherine Ryan, daughter of James J. and Johanna Gallagher Ryan was born in Allamakee county Feb. 13, 1870 and had lived in the county most of her life. She was married July 24, 1897 at Postville to William H. Drew, who died Nov 27, 1947.

One son, James F. Drew of Waukon remains. There are four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Elizabeth Ryan and Thomas Ryan of Postville are a brother and sister who remain. Three brothers and five sisters are deceased.

Mrs. Drew attended St. Patrick’s school in Waukon, was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.
