Edward Ryan (1882 – 1902)

--Friends of the James Ryan family were saddened Monday to learn of the death of their son Edward near Bridgewater, S.D., due to an attack of typhopneumonia. His father and brother James of Union Prairie, had been summoned the week previous and were at his bedside when he passed away. The remains were brought to the Ryan home near Frankville yesterday and will be interred at the Catholic cemetery on West Ridge today.

Edward Ryan died Oct 4, 1902 in South Dakota, of typhoid pneumonia. Edward was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Ryan, was born December 25, 1882, and his home has been in Frankville until the past two years. He leaves a father, mother, seven sisters, and three brothers to mourn his loss. His brother Jim, who has been taking care of him, brought the remains back yesterday. The funeral service will be held at the Catholic church in Waukon today. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community.

Submitter notes: Edward, also known as Edmond lies today in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Edward’s uncle and family resided in the Bridgewater, S.D. vicinity.
