ALFRED J. PULS
Funeral services for Alfred J. Puls, 108, of Dubuque were held Monday, April 15 at 11 a.m. at Behr Funeral Chapel there. He died at a local nursing home there on April 11. Burial was in Dubuque.
Puls, who was a well known Waterville resident, was the 9th oldest Iowan and Dubuque County's oldest resident. His wife was Jurdice Gronlid, daughter of Pastor Gronlid of the Old East Paint Creek Lutheran church north of Waterville.
He had been employed by Buettel Bros. for 45 years and later with McClurg Co. of Chicago.
He is survived by one daughter, Jean Loepsberger of Cedar Rapids and five sons: William of Munster, IN, James, Dundee, IL, Charles, Arlington Heights, IL and Robert and Alfred, both of Dubuque. Other survivors include 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
