Robert Howe
Robert "Robbie" Howe, age 77, of Lansing died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at his home in rural Lansing. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 1 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wexford with Msgr. Edward Lechtenberg officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Wexford. Friends may call Tuesday, September 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing.
Robbie was born in Waukon September 13, 1931 to Michael and Mary (Troendle) Howe. He grew up next to the Lafayette Ridge School, which he attended. He married Beverly Ronnfeldt September 28, 1974 at Wexford. Robbie had served in the United States Army as an M1 sharpshooter. He had received a good conduct medal while stationed in Germany in the late 1950s. He farmed in Allamakee County all of his life. He loved deer hunting with his kids and grandkids. Over the years he was always a good neighbor and friend, helping out where he was needed.
Robbie is survived by his wife, Beverly of Lansing; seven children, Paul (Jessie) Howe of Waukon, Daniel Howe and friend Bette Manders of Lansing, Catherine (Edward) Stahl of Lansing, Sarah Howe of Luana, Valeria Howe of Luana, Tammie Howe of Waukon, and Jacob Howe of Lansing; 10 grandchildren; and four siblings, George (Carol) Howe of Monona, Dorothy (Orville) Bratrud of Waukon, Theresa (Ed) Helgeson of Decorah, and Rita Jones of Janesville, WI. Robbie was preceded in death by his parents.
Casketbearers will be Gerald Donahue, Dale Donahue, Chris Howe, Mike Howe, Todd Stahl and Al Hanson.
