Mary L. Jacobs Blackmore

Mary L. Jacobs Blackmore, 72, of Beloit, WI died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at her home. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Beloit, WI, with Fr. Steven Kortendick officiating. Burial was in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, of Beloit, WI assisted the family.

Mary was born May 27, 1936 in LaCrosse, WI, the daughter of Louis and Mary Thimmesch Hammel. Mary was a graduate of New Albin High School. She was previously married to Jerome Renk and Richard Jacobs. Mary later married James Blackmore January 20, 1996 at St. Peter Catholic Church, South Beloit, IL. He predeceased her February 6, 2005.

Mary was employed by Pearl Lake, the Manor, and Mayflower Restaurants as a waitress. She loved to be at work; she liked meeting people. Mary was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and experiencing new things that life had to offer.

Survivors include her children, Vicki (Bill) McKerrow of Zion, IL, Susan Reese of Beloit, WI, Richard (Roberta) Renk of Eagle River, AK and Mary Jane (Patrick) Girard of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Donielle, Richard, Autumn, Jillian, Mejia, Daniel and Jacob; three great grandchildren, Allison, Chloe and Jonathon; sisters, Lorraine Moreicke of Williston, ND and Rose Zoll of New Albin; and one brother, Leo Hammel of Holiday, TX.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Richard Jacobs; brothers Eugene Hammel and Francis Hammel; and a sister, Anastasia Kavon. Memorials may be given in her name to HospiceCare, Inc.
