Jamestown, N.D. 'Alert', Dec. 29: Thursday afternoon at about five o'clock occurred the death of John Correll at his residence on Sixth Avenue South. The deceased had been sick for some time and has of late months been somewhat disheartened over his poor health and feared the worst. He had been confined to the house for some time and his death was not unlooked for. Deceased was 72 years old.
He came to North Dakota from Lansing, Iowa, and has for several years lived on a farm northeast of the city, from which he removed several years ago to take up his residence in the city.
He leaves a wife and five children: John H., George, Edward and Clara Correll and Mrs. G.W. Turner.
The deceased was one of the most substantial citizens of the county and a successful farmer, whose death will be greatly regretted by many friends and acquaintances.
John Correll was born in Germany and came to this country, spending several years in New York city and other points, arriving at Lansing, Iowa, in the early 60s. He came to North Dakota in 1882, taking up land four miles south of Spiritwood Lake, where he has resided most of the time. His famly came to the country a year later.
Death was due to a complication of Bright's disease and heart trouble, the deceased passing away while lying on the lounge. The funeral will be held from the German Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Saturday and burial will be in the Highland home cemetery.
George Correll arrived today from Grand Meadow, Minn., to attend the funeral.
