Guy Mason, Jr.

Guy "Bud" Mason, Jr., 86, of Kingman, AZ, formerly of Waukon, died June 7, 2008 in Kingman. Family graveside services were held at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon.

Bud was born April 19, 1922 in Waukon, the son of Guy Hampton Mason, Sr. and Lou Gluck. He was baptized at St. Paul's United Methodist Church and attended the Waukon Schools. Bud spent most of his life as a truck driver, both for some local transport firms as well as doing some cross country hauls. He also drove large machinery for several construction firms and spent two years as a fire tower watchman in Idaho.

He lived in numerous places throughout the country but in later years had spent several periods in Waukon and liked to winter in the desert country of Arizona. His favorite pastimes were spending time outdoors camping and traveling in his motor home.

Survivors include a brother, Keith (Jean) Mason of Waukon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gene.
