Levi J. Quandahl, 25, of Ridgeway died Friday, August 22, 2008 in Cameron, MO. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 30 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Pastor Ginny Olson officiating. Inurnment will be held in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon.
Levi John Quandahl was born December 30, 1982 in La Crosse, WI, the son of John and Mary Frances (McClimon) Quandahl. He was baptized and confirmed at Madison Lutheran Church in Ridgeway. Levi graduated from Decorah High School in 2002 and graduated from Hennepin Tech School in Minneapolis, MN, in 2004.
Levi and his dad shared a love of motorcycles and together they built a motocross track on the farm. Levi would go on to race and became an accomplished motocross racer. He raced throughout the Midwest and Arizona. Levi spent the last two winters in Scottsdale, AZ, so he could ride as much as possible. His favorite times were spent riding motocross. Levi worked on motorcycles at Decorah Kawasaki, M.C. Cycle in Mesa, AZ and Colorado Motor Sports in Boulder, CO.
He was a member of Madison Lutheran Church in Ridgeway. Levi enjoyed spending time with his friends, listening to music, reading, drawing, painting, running, skateboarding and riding Mountain and BMX bikes.
Survivors include his father, John Quandahl of Ridgeway; his mother, Mary Frances McClimon of Rochester, MN; a sister, Leah Quandahl of Chicago, IL; a special friend, Amanda Deemer of Westminster, CO; his grandparents, Arlene McClimon of DeWitt, William McClimon of Davenport, and Ozzie and Phyllis Quandahl of Waukon; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by two aunts, Kelly McClimon and MaRea McClimon; and an uncle, Walter McClimon.
Honorary casketbearers were Sam Oyloe, Joe Coffee, Caleb Timp, Pat Power, Andre Koening, Reed Allan, Jon Teslow, Pete and Mike Sweeney, Bobby Gronna, Henry Frear, Jason Thompson, Michael Thompson, Dexter Quandahl, Tommy, Jesse, Ryan, Shawn, Anthony, Luke and Matthew McClimon, and Tanner Illing.
