Robert Harold Lindblom was born June 26th, 1925, at the parsonage of the Swedish Baptist church in Center township and passed away at the home of his parents in Waukon May 24th, 1937, at the early age of 11 years and 11 months after an illness of two and one-half months. Death was caused by Bright's disease. He spent nearly all his short life at the place of his birth, only the last two years being spent in Waukon. Deceased attended school in the Center No. 3 school and in the Waukon public schools, being in the fifth grade at the time of his passing.
In his short life he has made a host of friends, both old and young, thru his kindness and helpfulness to everyone, and the esteem in which he was held was eminently displayed by the many beautiful floral offerings. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and especially at home.
Robert attended Sunday School at the Center Baptist church and also at the Waukon Baptist church. During his last illness he like to read his Bible which he received as a Christmas present from his Grandpa.
He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lindblom, two brothers, Eugene Richard and John Paul, his grandparents, Rev. and Mrs, J. R. Lindblom, also Grandmother Winberg of Manistique, Michigan, and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Thursday from the home at Waukon and at 2 o'clock from the Swedish Baptist church in Center township, Rev. A. G. Lagerquist of Des Moines conducting the services. The church was crowded with sorrowing relatives and friends, and the choir, composed of Delia and Rolland Shogren and Robert and Harriet Ahlstrom, with Mrs. Edwin Shogren accompanist, rendered appropriate music. A solo, "Jesus Loves Me" was sung by Holland Shogren during the services and at the graveside the choir beautiful ly rendered "Nearer My God to Thee." Burial in the cemetery near by. Peace to his memory.
The pall bearers were five of his young friends — Robert Anderson, John Johnson, John Ahlstrom, Sidney Aldrich and Leonard Hanson.
