Harold Lawrence Welper

Harold Lawrence Welper, age 81, of Rozet, WY died Saturday, July 5, 2008 of natural causes at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, WY surrounded by his loved ones. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, July 11 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Gillette, WY with Father Cliff Jacobson as Celebrant. Rite of Committal followed at the Gillette, Mount Pisgah Cemetery.

Harold Lawrence Welper was born March 3, 1927 in Houston County, MN, the son of Walter J. and Blanche (Collins) Welper. He married Joan Mauss June 11, 1951. They farmed by Dorchester. They had two children, Gary and Beverly.

Harold farmed, worked on construction for Iowa Road Builders Construction and Quandahl and the Martin Ford Dealership in Waukon. In October of 1978, they moved to Gillette, WY and he worked for Stockman's Motor. He loved to spend time with his family and also enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and woodworking. He really enjoyed going to the Thrashing Days in Sturgis, S.D.

Harold is survived by his wife Joan of 57 years of Rozet, WY; two children, Gary (Nancy) of Gillette, WY and Bev (Ramon) of Rozet, WY; four granddaughters; three grandsons; one brother; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
