MRS. LOUIS B. (Minnie Louise Hanke) MARTENS

October 16, 1963Minnie Louise Martens, former Allamakee county resident, widow of Louis B. Martens of Cedar Rapids, died in Mercy Hospital Saturday, October 12.
Born March 18, 1893 in Germany, she was married October 6, 1913. Her husband died July 9, 1962. Surviving are: five daughters, Ruth, Mrs. Lawrence Klein, Eileen, Mrs. Donald Klein, Shirley, Mrs. Robert Marsden, all of Cedar Rapids, Marion, Mrs. Loyd Thornton of Waterloo, and Mildred, Mrs. Robert Krousie of Monona; four sons, Harlan of Amana, Milton, Calvin and Vernon of Cedar Rapids; 30 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul and Vern Hanke, both of Waukon.
Memorial services were held at Turner chapel on Tuesday at 1:30 with the Rev. Richmond Anderson of Hope Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Cedar Memorial.
