Another Venerable Resident Dead

William Shuff who perhaps was the oldest person in the county, died at the home of his son William near Volney on Friday last of old age, after having reached the unusual age of 94 years. He was a native of West Virginia and came to Allamakee with his family in 1853 which has since been his home. One son and two daughters survive him, William and Mrs. Sarah Jane Brooks of this county and Mrs. Elizabeth Llewellyn of Fayette county. The funeral was held Sunday and interment took place in the cemetery south of Rossville.
