Early Resident of Lansing Area Buried Saturday

The funeral services for Mrs. Anna Meyer, 85, early settler of the Lansing area were held Saturday afternoon 3:00 p. m. at Martin Bros. funeral parlors and were conducted by the Rev. John C. Creps of Lansing. Burial was made in the family lot in Mays Prairie cemetery.

Mrs. Meyer died early Thursday morning at the Mrs. Marie Zimmerman-Schoenthal home in Waukon where she had been cared for the past several months. As Anna Sass she was born on a farm near Lansing on March 12, 1871, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sass. Her husband, who was Harry Meyer, died in 1931 and for a number of years she was employed in Dubuque until her health failed. An only son, William Meyer of Murphysboro, Ill., survives her as does her two grandchildren. Herbert Hartong of Center township is a nephew of deceased.
