George William Riser funeral Held Today

George W. Riser passed away Monday at the Waukon Veterans Hospital where he had been receiving medical treatment one week. He was born near Lansing on November 7th, 1869 a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Riser, pioneer settlers of this vicinity. He never married and farmed extensively all his life going from here to North Dakota over thirty-five years ago. He returned to Allamakee about twenty-five years ago and since then operated the home farm north of Church town with his brother Phillip and sister Barbara, only close survivors.

The funeral services will be held this Wednesday afternoon from the Burke funeral Chapel with the Rev. Heilig, newly appointed Baptist minister of Waukon, officiating. Burial will be in the Mays Prairie Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers; Philip Marti, Andrew Geinzer, Dewey Leppert, John Hirth, Herb and Clarence Feuerhelm.
