Mrs. Julius Rissman 1857-1950

Mrs. Julius Rissman, Sr., died Monday morning at the family home northeast of Waukon following a period of ill health, during which time she was given every care and attention by members of her family.

As Wilhelmenia Schapler she was born Sept. 26, 1857 in Germany, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Schapler. When young she came to Allamakee county and settled on a farm in Makee township where she has since resided.

She is survived by three sons, Charles at whose home she resided, Julius residing in the same vicinity, and Albert of Ludlow township. An only daughter, Mrs. John Lippe, lives in Waukon. There are a number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Her husband died several years ago and a son, William, of near Churchtown, met death in an accident almost two years ago.

The remains reposed at the Martin Bros. funeral parlors until this ( Wednesday) afternoon when funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Calvin Willemssen. Burial was made in the family lot in the Englehorn cemetery.
