SUCCUMBS TO INJURY
Harold Sheriff, who was brought to the Waukon Hospital Monday of last week suffering from injuries received the Thursday previous while working on the Griffis road grading crew near the Hanover church, when he was struck across the abdomen by the handle of a road scraper, succumbed to the injury and passed away at 7 a.m. Friday, the cause of death being intestinal gangrene.

Harold Alonzo Sheriff was born at Hayfield, Minnesota, November 27, 1908, and at the time of his death had reached the age of 20 years, 7 months and 29 days.

He is survived by his mother, living on the English Bench; and seven brothers, six of them residing here, and one in Boston.

The funeral was held Sunday. Services conducted by the Rev. Arthur Prust, were held at the Dorchester church, and burial took place in the English Bench cemetery.
