Edwin H. Wenig, 92, died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon, Iowa, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Methodist Church, Waukon, by the Rev. Steve Campbell. Burial will follow at Dorchester Methodist Cemetery, Dorchester, Iowa. Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight at Martin Funeral Home, Waukon.

Survivors include his wife, Grace, and a son, Leland, of Berlin, Wisconsin.

EDWIN H.WENIG - 1906-1999

Funeral services for Edwin H. Wenig, age 92, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10 at St. Paul's UMC with the Rev. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Dorchester Methodist Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Milton Staggemeier, Hillery Kasten, Neal Daley, Rafael DeLaTorre, Wilbur Rose, and Charles Bullerman.

Edwin Henry Wenig was a twin son born August 17, 1906 to George and Wilhelmine (Shefelbine) Wenig on their farm in rural Dorchester, Iowa. He attended the Dorchester School. On June 12, 1929 he married Grace Bulman in Waukon, Iowa. Edwin did painting of all types, worked as a farm hand, and he and Grace did some cleaning at the supper club in Dorchester. Edwin was a longtime member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Dorchester and since its closing, has been a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waukon, Iowa.

Edwin died Thursday, April 8, 1999 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, his twin, Franklin Wenig and Truman Wenig.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Grace; a son, Leland (Jean) Wenig of Berlin, Wisconsin; 1 granddaughter and 2 great-grandchildren.
