Keith R. Weber

Keith R. Weber, age 57, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Lansing died Monday evening, January 21, 2008 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday January 28 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating. Burial was in Gethsemane Cemetery in Lansing. Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing assisted the family.

Keith was born in Waukon December 28, 1950 to Christian and Odelia (Weipert) Weber. Keith had been a resident of Rem Group Homes in Cedar Rapids and Coralville for 17 years. He had been active in Special Olympics, he enjoyed music, cards, watching TV, eating and Pepsi. He loved hearing from his Godmother, Rita Hafkemeyer.

Keith was one of God's special people, He was a happy fun-loving person who loved to tease others. Keith would not want any one to grieve for him but rather think of him once in awhile and enjoy a Pepsi.

He is survived by seven siblings, Lois (John) Crumbaugh of Cedar Rapids, Richard (Jean) Weber of Lansing, Kathleen (Gerald) Garin of Cedar Rapids, Joyce (Paul) Murray of Isle, MN, Phyllis (Fred) Hogan of Lansing, Janice (Alfred) Habighorst of Deerwood, MN, and Sharon (David) German of Ames; and many nieces and nephews and all his friends from Rem Group Homes. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings, Lawrence, Robert, James, Theresa and Lucille Jangula.

Casketbearers were John Crumbaugh, Gerald Garin, Paul Murray, Fred Hogan, Alfred Habighorst and David German.
