WM.H.SCHULTZ
Funeral services were held last Wednesday afternoon at St.John`s Lutheran Church in Luana for William H. Schultz of Postville who passed away January 25, The Rev. L.W.Reuther was in charge of the rites.Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery in Luana.
William Henry J. Schultz, son of Carl and Mary Krogman Schultz was born June 6,1886 on a farm five miles southwest of Luana in Grand Meadow Township,Clayton County,Iowa.On October 9,1886 he was baptized in St. Paul`s Lutheran Church in Postville and on March 31,1901 he was confirmed in St. John`s Lutheran Church in Luana. He spent his youth in the of his birth.
On January 19,1916 he was united in marriage with Miss Malida Radloff in St. John`s Lutheran Church in Farmersburg. Three children were born to this union.After marriage he moved on the present Roy Moon farm where he lived two years. From there he moved on a farm near Farmersburg where he lived for 11 years,In 1932 he moved to the present Malin Schultz farm. In 1937 he came to Luana and in 1942 he moved to his present home in Postville for 15 years in Postville,he worked for the R.E.A.
The deceased was member of the St. John`s Lutheran Church since 1932. He was a charter member of its brotherhood.
Mr. Schultz has been in failing health for a number of years.Last Sunday his health took a turn for the worse,and on Monday morning;January 25,at 9:15 he passed away in his home,having attained the age of 73 years,seven months and 19 days.
His parents,one brother and one grandchild preceded him in death.He is survived by his widow,Mrs.Malida Schultz of Postville,one son Malin Schultz of Luana; two daughters,Miss Cleva Schultz of Postville and Mrs. Leslie Smith of Postville, five brothers,one sister,nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
