Alpha J. Rosendahl, 52, died Thursday, March 5, 1981, at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, Iowa.

Born August 1, 1928, in Allamakee county, she was the daughter of Daniel & Anna (Hahn) Sires. She attended local schools and married Norman Rosendahl January 29, 1947, in Waukon.

He survives as do four daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Gloria) Vongroven of Waukon; Mrs. Garon (Barbara) Blunt and Mrs. Ronald (Marjorie) Wurtzel of Decorah, Iowa; and Mrs. James (Teletha) Springsteen of Edwardsburg, Michigan; two sons, Gary Rosendahl of Waukon; and Gail Rosendahl of Shenandoah, Iowa; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Sires and Lorraine Britain of Waukon; and Mrs. William (Roberta) Kannenberg of Cassopolis, Michigan; and two brothers, Robert Sires of Cassopolis; and William Sires of Spring Grove, Minnesota.

She was predeceased by a brother, Calvin Sires; and a sister, Lois Rosendahl.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 8 at 1:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home. The Rev. Eldred Nesset officiated with burial in Oakland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Daniel Britain, Norval Britain, Greg Rosendahl, Dennis Soride, Richard Holten and Charles Holten.
