MRS. HOMER C. (Marie Agnes Waters) LEUI

Funeral services for Marie Leui were held Friday, May 29 at 10 a.m. in St. Bridget Catholic Church, Postville. The Rev. Paul Otting officiated. Schutte Funeral Service, Postville, was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Grand Meadow Cemetery.

Marie Agnes Leui, daughter of Robert Burton and Mary Ann (McKinley) Waters, was born November 9, 1896 in Grand Meadow Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She died Tuesday, May 26, 1987 in the Good Samaritan Center, Postville.

She attended School No. 6 in Grand Meadow Township and St. Mary's Academy at Prairie du Chien, WI.

She married Homer C. Leui at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clermont on November 9, 1920. They lived on farms in the Postville area until 1940 when she moved to Postville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer, who died July 23, 1940, 2 brothers, Leonard and Louis Waters and a sister, Helen Kneeland.

She is survived by 5 brothers, Bernard, Clement, Ambrose, Robert "Bertie" and Paul Waters, all of Postville and many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Postville and the Rosary Society. For many years Marie kept the records for the Grand Meadow Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Marvin Winter, James Lechtenberg, James Looney, Ambrose Looney, Terry Hogan and Thomas Hogan.
