Robert Joseph Rigdon Sr., 73, an administrator for General Dynamics, died Saturday at a Fort Worth hospital. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Episcopal Church, 5001 Crestline Road. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Canon James P. De Wolfe, Jr., the very Rev. Robert W. Bosworth Jr. and the Rev. Russell Clapp. Visitation: Following the services in DeWolfe Hall. Memorials: Holy Apostles Episcopal Church, 3834 SE Loop 820, Fort Worth, Texas 76140 or donation to a favorite charity.
Mr. Rigdon was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Waukon, Iowa. He was a faithful member and senior warden of Holy Apostles Episcopal Church. He was a B-24 pilot during World War II, serving in the China-Burma-India Theater. He retired from General Dynamics, now Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems, in January 1985 after 35 years.
Survivors: Wife, Margie Norris Rigdon; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Jr. and Monick, Philip and Linda and Jeffrey and Gloria. Mr. Rigdon's joy was his seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Charles of Beloit, Wis., and Peter of Smiths, Ala.; stepmother, Ruth Rigdon Anderson, Garden City, Kan; half brothers, Eugene Rigdon, Lakeside, Mont., Warren Rigdon, Phoenix; half sisters, Mary Sue Stanfield, Simi Valley, Calif., Frances Skipton and Stella McGinn, both of Garden City, Kan., and Georgia Carter of Memphis, Tenn.
