Janet (Brainard) Groething

Janet R. Groething, 85, of Newark, OH and formerly of West Chester, PA died Sunday, January 6, 2008, in Newark, OH.

She was the wife of Captain Einar Groething, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in Fairview Township, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Cole Brainard.

A remarkable, uncommon, beautiful woman, Janet loved traveling with her husband, Einar, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.

In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Janice Groething-Hnat and Jerry of Pittsburgh, PA; Nancy Kowalski of Newark, OH; Leslie Groething and Mevin Edwards of Indianapolis, IN; and Karen Groething of Silver Spring, MD; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Brainard of Battle Creek, MI, Perry Brainard of Harrah, OK, and Clifford and Jean Brainard of Rogers, AR.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Groething.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 11 at Oaklands Cemetery, 1042 Pottstown Pike, West Chester, PA with the Rev. William Seamon-McGowan officiating.
