The death of Mrs. John Shefelbine, 80, occurred Tuesday at a local hospital following a long illness.
Elizabeth Bulman, daughter of George W. and Anna (Rowe) Bulman, was born December 21, 1877, at Lansing, Michigan, and married John Shefelbine February 22, 1898. They lived on a farm in Union City township until their retirement in 1947. Their only son, George, lives on the home farm.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Francis Howes of Dorchester, Iowa; Miss Esther Shefelbine and Mrs. Sidney Harthey (Hartley?) of Dubuque, Iowa; and Mrs. Norman Monserud of Waterville, Iowa; one son, George Shefelbine of Dorchester; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Abner of New Rockford, North Dakota; and two brothers, James Bulman of Renton, Washington; and Ray Bulman of Tarpon Springs, Florida.
Friends may call at Martin's Funeral Home Thursday, and services will be held there at 1:00 p.m. Friday and at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Methodist church, Dorchester, the Rev. Raymond Orr officiating. Burial will be in the Dorchester Methodist cemetery.
