Arlene Anna (Koenig) Larson was born March 22, 1918 in the Postville, Iowa Hospital. She passed away, Saturday, September 15, 2007, in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 23 days.

She was baptized into the Lutheran Faith and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church at Castalia, Iowa, in 1932, by the Reverend G. A. Schmidt. Arlene graduated from Postville High School in 1935.

On November 9, 1939 she was married to Aldo Morris Larson in the Zion Lutheran Church at Castalia, by the Reverend William Striepe. The couple farmed in the Gunder and Castalia areas and moved to the Koenig farm near Castalia in 1947. Arlene moved to her present home in Postville in 1994.

Following their retirement from farming, Arlene and Aldo concentrated on their love of refinishing antique furniture and attending auctions. They displayed their furniture and antiques in Decorah, the "School House Antiques" in Marquette, and at their home near Castalia.

Arlene had a witty sense of humor and took pleasure in cutting out jokes and sharing them with relatives and friends. She was proud of the fact that she was one of the oldest members of the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Aldo, who died in 1993, and a sister, Georgean Stadtmiller, who died in July of 2007.

Arlene dearly loved and is survived by nephews Don and wife, JoAnn, Gene and wife, Mary Stadtmiller and their children, Senta, Shela, and Paul, and their families, several cousins, and many, many friends.
