Vern W. Sires, Sr., 47, died early Wednesday, August 29, 1973, at Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa, after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Dike, Iowa, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

Survivors are his wife, Roberta; his father, Floyd, of Cedar Falls; and his mother, Mrs. Ruth (LaVelle) Sires, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Vern Jr., in the Navy stationed at Jacksonville, Florida; and Patrick at home; four daughters, Christle Croci and Roberta Weber, both of Dike; and Candice and Tamera, both at home; three grandchildren; a brother, Paul, of Cedar Falls; and two sisters, Mrs. Roland Knudsvig and Mrs. Herman Wenzel, both of Waterloo.

Friends may call at the Dike Funeral Chapel from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 11:30 a.m. Friday, and at the church prior to the services.
