Beatrice Mauss

Beatrice Mauss, age 86, of New Albin died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Thornton Manor in Lansing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9 at St. Joseph's Church in New Albin, with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in New Albin. Friends may call Tuesday, May 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the New Albin Community Center in New Albin.

Beatrice was born in Dorchester November 2, 1920 to John and Mary (McKenna) Blake. She married Cornelius 'Connie' Mauss February 18, 1941 at Dorchester and they were married 65 years before he preceded her in death March 16, 2006.

Beatrice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, was a member of the Homemakers Club and was a member and past officer of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Survivors include nine children, Dick (Janet) Mauss of New Albin, Kenneth (Romelle) Mauss of LaCrosse, WI, Jerry (Janice) Mauss of New Albin, Karen (Donavon) Olson of Eitzen, MN, Barb (Wayne) Sabatke of Birchwood, WI, Alan Mauss of Hokah, MN, George (Tammy) Mauss of Caledonia, MN, Gary (Barbara) Mauss of Caledonia, MN, and Steve (Kim) Mauss of Eitzen, MN; 40 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Mauss of Combined Locks, WI; one sister, Frances Blake of Waukon; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Blake of Dorchester and Mary Blake of Waukon.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Connie in 2006, and a son Donald Mauss in 1985; four brothers, William, James, Patrick, and John Blake; and six sisters, Gertrude Larson, Marie Schulte, Julia Mauss, Helen White, Patricia Byrnes, and Betty Hegeman.

Casketbearers are Dan Mauss, Darrin Olson, Denny Mauss, Troy Haines, Tom Mauss and Brian Mauss.

The Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing is assisting the family.
