Mrs. DONALD (Loretta Margaret McCormick) BULMAN 1912-2007
Loretta Margaret Bulman, age 94, of Harpers Ferry died Sunday, April 22, 2007. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 25 at St. Ann's - St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry, with Fr. Louis Trzil and Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Paint Rock Cemetery, Harpers Ferry. Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon assisted the family with arrangements.
Loretta was born July 5, 1912 at her family's Harpers Ferry home to Bernard J. and Margaret (Connor) McCormick. She was a 4-H leader and a member of St. Ann's - St. Joseph's Church, where she was also a Rosary Society member.
May 10, 1933 she married Donald P. Bulman in rural Harpers Ferry. Together they farmed in rural Harpers Ferry.
Nicknamed "Bones" by her grandchildren, Loretta was born, lived, raised her children, and farmed all her life on her parents' farm in rural Harpers Ferry. She loved to be outdoors doing anything from tending the flowers in her yard to mushroom hunting, and if there was still light in the day she walked the farm, chopping thistles just to be outside.
Loretta also enjoyed her cats and dogs, crocheting, reading, visiting with friends, and baking homemade bread for all who came to visit. What she enjoyed most in her life and was defiantly the best at, was spoiling her grandkids. She will be missed by all, but forever in our hearts and memories.
Survivors include her children, Mary (Marv) Schlichte of Cedar Rapids, Pat (Bill) Moody of Harpers Ferry, James (Eiko) Bulman of Arizona, and Donald A. Bulman of Harpers Ferry; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Edna Bulman; and her daughter-in-law, Evaun Bulman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gerald Bulman; two grandchildren, Peggy Moody and Jennifer Bulman; and one great-grandchild, Jessica Krumweidie.
Casketbearers included her grandsons, Tim Bulman, Ray Bulman, Mike Moody and Shawn Moody, and her great grandsons, Jeremy Annis and Brandon Cassidy. Honorary casketbearers included her granddaughters, Chris Cassidy, Laurie Moody, Juli Cassidy, Kim Midgarden and Cassie Elwood; her grandsons, Craig Cassidy, Jason Bulman and Kevin Bulman; her great-grandsons, Cody Moody, Cole John Moody, Dustin Moody, Tanner Moody, Blain Moody, Curtis Cassidy and Josh Elwood; her great-granddaughters, Faith Moody, Sydney Stankee, Cheyanne Bush, Kristi Bulman, Tayler Ray Bulman, Faith Midgarden, Hannah Midgarden, Emma Midgarden, Alicia Cassidy and Savannah Elwood; her great-great-granddaughter Jadynn Reininger, and her great-great-grandsons, Kaid Reininger, Kolten Cassidy and Landen Dennis.
