Floyd Ashbacher

Funeral services were held Monday, January 30 at 1:30 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Home, Waukon, for Floyd Ashbacher who died Fri., Jan. 27 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon.

Born March 5, 1905 in Allamakee County, Floyd William was the son of Lewis and Minnie Buege Ashbacher. He attended the local schools at French Creek and was a member of the Methodist Church.

He farmed in Allamakee county until 1960, when he and his wife moved to Mesa, Arizona.

Surviving are his wife, the former Mabel Russell, whom he married June 30, 1932 in Caledonia, MN; their children are: George of Waukon, Floyd, Jr. and Mrs. James (Phyllis) Wilder of Decorah, Mrs. Curtiss (Ardis) Klepper of Postville, Mrs. Roger (Delores) Klocke of Waterloo and Mrs. Robert (Frances) Kracker of Mesa, AZ; his brothers and sisters are: John R. Ashbacher of Waukon, Jerome Ashbacher of Indianola, Mrs. Selma Ebner of Lansing and Mrs. Viola Buntrock of Rippey. There are also 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two sisters, Leonette and Lois, preceded him in death. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
