Ella Caroline Waughtal Whyte

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in the Schutte Funeral Home at Postville, Iowa, with the Rev. James Allison officiating and on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Racine, Wisconsin, with the Rev. Al Guetzlaff from the Gethemene Lutheran Church in Racine officiating. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery at Racine.

Ella Caroline (Waughtal) Whyte, the daughter of Levi and Inga Rudd Waughtal, was born April 2, 1910, at Millston, Wisconsin. She passed away at the home of her daughter Judy and son-in-law, DuWayne Feickert, at Postville, Iowa on Friday, September 13, 2002. She had reached the age of 92 years, five months and 11 days.

She graduated from high school in Roberts, Wisconsin. On June 14, 1934 she was married to Harold Standish at the home of her parents. He passed away in 1974 (sic). To this union four children were born, Faye, Karen, Judy, and Bill. On April 4, 1964 (sic) Ella was married to Virgil Whyte at Racine, Wisconsin. He passed away in 1989.

The family lived in Racine, Wisconsin most of their life. Ella had helped to run the Toddle Inn Restaurant in Racine, Wisconsin, where her chief responsibility was to make the rolls and pies, and she also helped with any of the other work that needed to be done to prepare meals for their customers. In 1986 they retired and moved to Minocqua, Wisconsin. Ella came to Postville in 1992 to live with her daughter, Judy. Here she helped in the bakery and restaurant with the baking of pies.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Harold (1974) (sic) and Virgil (1989) (sic), an infant daughter, Karen, a son, Harold William Standish, 3 grandchildren, Jeff and Frankie Clark, and Cheryl Roberts, 2 brothers, Earl Lee and David Waughtal, and two sisters, Clara Roberts, and Edna Swan.

Surviving are two daughters, Faye Clark, and Judy and husband, DuWayne Feickert, all of Postville, IA; four grandchildren: Sue (Steve) Falk, Bryan Clark, Steve Roberts, and Jennifer Justice; 8 great grandchildren: Krystin and Courtney Falk, Brian Clark, Ashlie and Jeremy Justice, and Joshua, Tim, and Stephanie Roberts; a daughter-in-law, Barbara (Harold) Standish, of Warner Robins, GA, one sister-in-law, Alice and husband, Richard Skoglund of Racine, WI, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Ella was a member of the Gethemene Lutheran Church in Racine, Wisconsin.
