Lorenz Karl Wilke

Funeral services for Lorenz Wilke were conducted at the Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, Monday, February 1, 1971 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dick Harberts officiating. Mr. Wilke died in the Soldiers' Home in Marshalltown, Iowa, Friday, January 29 where he had resided since 1960.

Lorenz Karl Wilke, son of Fritz and Albertine Thies Wilke, was born November 29, 1902 at Postville, Iowa. He received his education in the Postville schools. He was baptized June 26, 1903 in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville and confirmed August 26, 1917.

Mr. Wilke worked as a mechanic in ostville and in Minnesota. He entered military service September 3, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota and was discharged April 6, 1943 at Reno, Nevada as a private at Headquarters, w12th Chemical Maintenance Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-sister, Elizabeth Wilke Foels. He is survived by two nephews, Leo Foels of Postville, Walter Foels of Victor and a niece, Mrs. George (Ruby) Norden of Guernsey.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
