Bertha J. Nagel Meskimen,78, of 193 Tiki Terrace, Hiawatha, died Monday, Aug. 22, 1994, in her home after a short illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Brosh Chapel, where friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight. The Rev. William Harnish will officiate.

Survivors include two sons, Guy James Meskimen of Guttenberg and Roger L. Meskimen of Hiawatha; two sisters, Mildred Ferguson of San Ramon, Calif., and Cibyl Ewing of Corvallis, Ore.; two brothers, Fred Nagel of Guttenberg and Thomas Nagel of Elkader; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Born May 11, 1916, in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, Bertha was the daughter of Amos and Sophia Hamann Nagel. She had been a beautician and cosmetologist and had lived in Hiawatha for the past five years. Before that, she lived in Portland, Ore.

A memorial fund has been established.
