Alvin "Bud" Sires passed away suddenly at his home in New Albin on Sunday, July 12, 1970. Death was caused by an apparent heart attack.
He was born on April 5, 1913, the son of the late James and Sarah (Hahn) Sires. On
November 24, 1930, he was married to Lillian Welper in Waukon.Survivors include his wife and two sons, Donald and James "Gus" Sires, the former of Kirkland, Washington, and the latter at home in New Albin. Others who survive him are three sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Ruby) Middendorf, Caledonia, Minnesota; Mrs. Joeseph (Eleanor "Mae") Crowley, New Albin; Mrs. Claude (Genevieve "Jenny") Grahlman, Waukon; and three brothers, Raymond "Tat", Forrest "Frosty" and Cleon, all of New Albin.
A brother, Donald, preceded him in death.
He was employed by Allamakee county as a maintenance man.
Funeral services are to be held on Thursday, July 16, at 2:00 p.m., at the Grace Methodist Church, with Rev. Tanaka officiating. Burial will be in the New Albin cemetery.
