Helen Fink
Helen Fink, age 75, of New Albin died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, Feb. 27 at Grace United Methodist Church in New Albin with Pastor Keith Putney officiating. Burial was in the New Albin City Cemetery in New Albin.
Helen was born in Spring Grove, MN February 1, 1932 to Alphy and Benora (Harstad) Solberg. She graduated from Spring Grove High School, and she married Delbert 'Bud' Fink July 6, 1951 at New Albin.
Helen was active and faithful in the Grace United Methodist Church and worked in the New Albin Savings Bank for 35 years. She was a member of the Kenneth Casey Post # 5603 of the VFW Auxiliary and the Ladies Aide. Helen will be remembered as being a very caring and loving person.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Fink of LaCrosse, WI and Steve (Kristi) Fink of Marion; one granddaughter, Kylie Fink of Marion; nine siblings, Lyla Smith of Waukon, Naomi Solberg of Decorah, Stanley (Carol) Solberg of St. Peter, MN, Margaret (Orville) Flaten of Rockland, WI, Paul (Carolyn) Solberg of Decorah, Rev. Robert (Judy) Solberg of Des Moines, Judy (Sylvan) Ashbacher of Lansing, David (Eileen) Solberg of Hiawatha, and Donald Solberg of Caledonia, MN; sisters-in-law Patricia Solberg of LaCrescent, MN and Velma Mack of New Albin; two aunts, Mildred Meyer of Spring Grove, MN and Alma Solberg of Mabel, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Delbert June 29, 1996; her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Mayme Fink; two brothers, Charles and Alden Solberg; brothers-in-law, Freeman and Harris Fink and Kenneth Smith; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Fink.
The Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing assisted the family with arrangements.
