James Johnston 1928-2007

James C. "Junior' Johnston, age 78, of New Albin died Sunday morning, Feb. 25, 2007 at Thornton Manor Nursing Home in Lansing. There will be no services. Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing assisted the family.

James was born in Ferryville, WI April 13, 1928 to James and Bernita (Brosh) Johnston. He married Pauline 'Polly' Siebels in April of 1967 at Cedar Rapids.

James served in the Navy. He was the Head Chef at The Flame Room in Cedar Rapids for many years prior to operating a restaurant in New Albin for many years.

James is survived by his wife Polly Johnston of New Albin; five children, Cheryle Myers of Stoddard, WI, Cheryle Arneson, Kevin Melsha of Solon, Wayne Melsha of Winter Garden, FL, and Kathyann Melsha of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren; two siblings, Robert Johnston of Ferryville, WI and Beverly Copsey of Fennimore, WI.

James was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Melsha, August 2, 2006.
