Mary Russell Cole Dies in Minnesota

Mrs. Delmer Cole, 72, of Lewiston, MN died Saturday, March 24 in the Winona, MN Memorial hospital.

Mary Russell Cole was born Oct. 20, 1906 in Allamakee county and was a 1926 graduate of Waukon Senior high school. She married Delmer Cole Oct. 11, 1926 in Waterville. For the past 29 years they lived in Lewiston. She was a member of the Women's Mission society of the Grace Brethren church in Winona.

Survivors include a son Orville A. Cole of Wykoff, MN; four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Halbakken of Rochester, MN, Mrs. Charles (Elaine) Heiser of Los Alamitos, CA, Mrs. Carl (Marie) Patzner of Independence, WI and Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Merchelwitz of Winona; four brothers, George Louis and Lester of Mazomanie, WI and Charles and Cecil of Waukon; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Jenny) Sass of Waukon and Mrs. Floyd( Mable) Ashbacher of Decorah; 25 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, two brothers, one sister and a grandson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 28 at 10 a.m. at Romnes funeral home in Lewiston with Harry Johnson and Marlon Halbakken officiating. Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. at Oakhill cemetery in Lansing. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
